We are very excited that Tim Quirino has joined the team as an Interactive Designer. (You may know him as the Co-Founder of Geekadelphia.) We are looking forward to the contributions he will make in the very near future.

Tim is a master of visual elements with a keen eye for detail and a flair for effective design.

For the last two years, he was a Multimedia Designer at QVC. He was directly responsible for seven of the nine mobile apps available today. These efforts represented the act of blazing a new trail for the massive multi-national retail corporation, literally placing their services in the pocket of their loyal customers.

In 2010, he was handpicked by Ford Motor Company to represent Philadelphia in the wildly successful Fiesta Movement. The campaign was an impressive display of how social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, and Foursquare can engage potential customers. The 2010 Fiesta Movement led to the largest number of pre-orders for any Ford vehicle ever.

His formal training comes in the form of a degree in Graphic Design from Drexel University.

Informally, he has been designing for various clients in the music industry since 2004. While attending classes full-time, he was on the short list of freelance designers for clients like Sony BMG and Fueled By Ramen Records. Projects for popular acts such as Fall Out Boy, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, & Midtown were common, and fueled his desire to see his work influence the masses. During this time, he developed brand identities, merchandise designs, websites, and album art for these artists. The work remained constant, and led to many opportunities. In 2008, it led to the formation of Big Red Tank, a very small business that Tim freelances under.

Outside of work, his love of Star Wars knows no bounds. After building a suit of stormtrooper armor for himself, he enlisted under the ranks of the 501st Legion, marching in parades and conventions, donating time and smiles to children andcharities in need. He wanted to make his mark in the city of brotherly love, so in 2007 he founded a blog called Geekadelphia with his close friend, and fellow geek, Eric Smith. Today, Geekadelphia.com is the hub for tech, pop culture, video games, and movies for geeks in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.

In August of 2011, the inaugural Philly Geek Awards were held at the Academy of Natural Sciences. This black-tie event drew sponsors and attendees alike, and tickets for the evening sold-out. What began as an event to honor fellow members of the geek community ended up getting front-page coverage in Philly Weekly.

The rest of Tim's free time revolves around his beautiful fiancee, video games, bowling (with an average of 155), and watching movies with his house rabbit Darth Vada (sheʼs a lady). Vada was smuggled into Philadelphia on an Amtrak train from Albany, New York. The movie rights to this tale have already been purchased, and sources close to the production team say that Tim will play himself.
